Lou, you owe yourself a sentimental journey to Petaluma, even if the
radicals are gone. Part of it looks much the same.

Leftwing lore has it that SF State, during the Black Studies Strike, was
full of Petaluman kid radicals; also Santa Cruz; fewer in Berkeley (too
high class a school) but some. They had a good diaspora, and as late as the
Freeze Campaign there were oldtimers gathering signatures aplenty.

In the FRAYHAYT, I reviewed an autobiography of one oldtime Frayahytnik
there, nice story, put together by an oral historian at Berkeley (and I
forgot his name, too...yikes).
