What a wonderful and passionate statement by perhaps the sentinel figure in the history of American socialism and communism. Debs is amongst many that watches over us.

Considering its time frame - one hundred years ago, and that distinct historical period in the ascendency of the industrial system, (fifty years before the black masses as a mass and people would enter the industrial working class), Deb's statement is testimony to the profound sense of fair play, equality, class solidarity and the quest for communism within the heart of the advanced thinkers in the American Union.

Long Live the spirit of Eugene Debs.
