"Be A Part Of The Solution!"

Yesterday a viable campaign was begun to place the
smart, feisty Maureen Taylor on the ballot for Detroit
City Council. Many of you know Maureen as the chair of
WELFARE RIGHTS ORGANIZATION and an ardent activist
successfully challenging the entrenched bureaocracy in
Detroit responsible for widespread suffering.

While globally, the majority of peoples are now
unemployed and "living on the edge", here at home the
three H's prevail: Homelessness, Hunger and no Health
care for many, many thousands.  We need a
mega-coalition to fight the common enemy, politically
and in the streets.

Maureen does both and does it well. Her presence on
the City Council would greatly speed the impact of our
work for REAL solutions. We invite you to join in this
important effort by contributing to the campaign,
monetarily or with your ideas and time.

Maureen needs 60-80,000 votes to win a seat and 10
committees are being formed to make that a reality:
Door-to-door Distribution, Labor Unions, Religious,
Seniors, Youth, Organizations, Political Research,
Community & Canvassing, Fundraising and
Media/Publicity.

We are formulating answers to the question: "What Is
the Message?" to be articulated in the language of the
masses. We will look at how people perceive the
candidate and who are the most likely voters, etc.

Starting Wednesday, petitions for putting Maureen
Taylor on the ballot can be picked up at Hannan House,
Woodward 3 blocks south of the DIA, (Detroit Institute of Art) either 2nd or 4th
floors. You can help promote her at churches, malls,
community centers & at whichever events you are
attending.
