I realise that everything I said to Lou about weblogs goes double, triple, quintuple when it comes to writing Mr Angry letters about a Victor Davis Hanson editorial to a mailing list composed entirely of leftwing economists, but really. I do think it's a bit much to describe Michael Moore as part of a "Hollywood Elite" when the man, notoriously, can't get his films financed there and has the devil's own job in trying to prevent his distributors from reneging on their contract. I hold no particular brief for Moore; his show at the Roundhouse in Camden was frankly overpriced. But the issue of his membership of the intersection of the sets "Hollywood" and "Elite" ought to be a simple factual one.
All I can really say in my defence is that I have been lumbered with childcare duties for the coming three days, so my sense of proportion is not what it might be. best, dd
