likely apocryphal re. castro, i actually like story better when it is new york yankees who ostensibly gave him tryout, in ft. lauderdale where team held spring training when i was kid (my dad would take me out of school and we'd drive down from orblando one weekend each spring to see several games), as i recall version of tryout with yankees, castro threw hanging curve balls and that pretty much ended team's interest... have come to doubt veracity of castro tryout given that story told is either about 'senators' or 'yankees' both of which are bit too juicy given political stuff... michael hoover -------------------------------------------------------------- Please Note: Due to Florida's very broad public records law, most written communications to or from College employees regarding College business are public records, available to the public and media upon request.
