The left, such as it is, does not seem unified enough as a
political/cultural movement/power -for lack of a better term- to
impose any limits on inquiry. The criticisms by leftists and others of
stuff like Evo. Psych., which is what I think you are obliquely
referring to, are spot  on afaiac. It is the Right's view of science
that really throws limits on inquiry and, further, they criminalize
various uses to which the products of science are put by human beings,
which is an affront to liberty and a disgrace.
