Greetings Economists,
If Bush does manage to put together a war against Iran it puts the left
in the U.S. in a crisis scenario for which class based issues have a
dominating influence. Certainly the immigration demonstrations reflect
upon how class pressure is building in the U.S.

Nuclear war upon Iraq radicalizes the social structure in the U.S. It
polarizes the population with those opposed being sharply divided from
Bush's supporters and perhaps a large middle that doesn't want to
challenge the technical power of the right. I think it right that this
would harden the left here to take steps toward serious organization of
resistance.

I think the situation is finally to a place in which a serious
challenge is possible and the left can start working on the process.
Nothing changes quickly, but we have to face a war with Iran as the
first step for our side to make a mass movement come into being.
thanks,
Doyle Saylor
