Funny, it looks similar to the way statistical quality control sampling is calculated in a manufacturing environment. Not sure if ISO-9001 or Mil-Spec 415-D. Works quite well there if all of W. Edwards Deming's principles are followed (I'm still waiting...). Maybe the continuation of the trend imposed by this method of rating staff should be: EVERYONE on gets a raise if the students (the product) performs within spec. Leigh http://leighm.net/
