I think most PEN-L'ers can figure out that the violence was initiated by the rightwing in Venezuela and then people defended themselves. I am not sure what this has to do with Iran. The revolutionary guards burst into a trade union organizing meeting and started beating people up. Yoshie's citation reminds me of Malcolm X's point about trying to turn the victim into a criminal and vice versa.
