election furor dies down, Dick Cheney steps down "for medical
reasons." He is then appointed "special national security director" of
the White House, so he can maintain his power. His replacement as
veep? the soon-to-be unemployed Senator Rick Santorum, a long-term
Bush ally. Then Santorum would have an incumbent's advantage when he
runs for President in 2008... (It's too bad, Rove might be thinking,
that we can't appoint Jeb as Veep, because Bush/Bush
