The year 2006 will long be remembered as the Great Retribution--or perhaps the Deliverance Election. George W. Bush's presidency is toast. Bush's potential to further harm the Republic has been greatly reduced. Most Americans stopped believing anything he said a good while back. This was their opportunity to tell him to his face.
Rui: They could have done this a long time ago if only the Democrats had managed to put up/ groom/ profile/ present a candidate that people would have faith in on first impression. Incredible that for a country that thinks of itself as the leader of the world, with great minds in all spheres of life (true!), there appears to be a dearth of men and women with the necessary mettle to take on the rudder!!!!!!!! PS: the same can be said for the EU collectively and the majority of the present-day European governments. Where are the visionaries with solid principles clear heads and steadfast perseverance?
