"what could be said in this regard is that America occupied Iraq to serve its 
strategic interests, undermine competition, and to remain the leader of the 
world for some time to come. however, its objectives were not met because of 
resistance and this also meant that the US cannot deliver on its missionary 
promises of democracy and equality and a betterment of people's lives. This 
means that the american project in Iraq has failed and this leads to two 
possibilities: 1) it will stay the course thinking that it could win militarily 
or 2) it will pull out meaning that America's standing worldwide will be harmed 
as a result of its failure in Iraq."
