When I posted yesterday, I hadn't thought we were on Comedy Central. I
will persist in this possible illusion by recommending a reading of a
modestly entitled article, based upon econometrics (which happens to have
been a speciality of mine in my prior academic life -- see my edited book,
"Frontiers in Econometrics", Academic Press, 1974, including the chapter on
conditional logit analysis for which Daniel McFadden won the so-called
Nobel Prize in Economics).

This option-markets article uses confidential data provided by the CBOE to
its author A.M. Potestman, University of Illinois, Champagne/Urbana, and is
entitled "Unusual option market activity and the terrorist attacks of
September 11, 2001", Journal of Business, July 2006.

For anyone who wishes to actually read this article, I would be happy to
discuss it. I would alert you to the fact that Potestman's research finds
~99% probability of insider trading on American Airlines stock before 9-11.
For anyone who might think the Commission had adequately addressed insider
trading, I guess I won't be able to help you.

Paul Z.

P.S. Louis P.'s citation to an article by a physicist writing in
CounterPunch about 9-11 failed to point to any responses to same. If
anyone has seen a reasoned response to Potestman's article on 9-11 options,
I'd be pleased to read and discuss that also. I haven't seen any myself,
nor has Potestman as far as I know from my last contact with him.
