Her work is a popularization but my recollection (from drawing upon
the two at the same time) is that there were no fundamental
differences (except perhaps his own reticence about the implications
of his argument). Maybe you can point some out. Well, actually, a
difference: if I recall Brenner correctly, his work is permeated by
the methodological individualist credo he absorbed when partying with
the likes of Roemer and Elster (the 'all-bullshit analytical
marxists') whereas Wood (more of a Marxist) skates over this thin ice
(perhaps a bit like in a Chaplin flick). Neither is an economist as such.
