Prevent? Or deal with those already underway? In the U.S., the
reforms, such as they were, of the Progressive Era were an outgrowth
of truly extreme militancy in the late 19th/early 20th century. In
the New Deal, there were commies all over and it looked like the
system was about to fall apart. There's just noting comparable now,
not even within the AEA.
