To simultaneously a) hijack four airliners, b) neutralize the world's most
elaborate air-defense system, and c) set in motion a military juggernaut,
while d) collecting millions in put-option profits is arguably too
complicated for *anyone* but the special operations division of a
major intelligence service--and, it so happens, the poster boy for the
operation just happens to have long-established ties with at least
one such outfit.
