At least part of the right has been against Columbia's move because
it involves such heavy use of NY's very developer-friendly eminent
domain law. I interviewed a fellow from the Manhattan Institute,
Julia Vitullo-Martin, about this a few months ago:

I'm with the libertarians on eminent domain, but it's interesting you
say that the Post is against Columbia's expansion. I can't imagine
them standing up for Harlem or taking a principled libertarian
position - or a principled position of any kind. Do they hate
Columbia that much?
