I don't mean to rain on this progressive parade, but this was inevitable with other signs like the increase in post-college entry-level intelligence recruitment by the feds and continuing education certificates in homeland security skills. The greater question is not to eliminate such paramilitary activity since the Boy(sic) Scouts will probably have a merit badge in it, but to consider why the left tends to shrink from thinking that their children don't need to have the same skills. It will always be more than simply discussing "realities about good guys and bad guys". The question of using public money for such curricula will only force this activity into charter schools that privatize the activity not unlike private security contracting for our public diplomats.
