The problem is that the rich institutions hold the rest of us hostage. ^^^^ CB: Trying to think out the metaphor : Hostages are held with the threat that harm will be done to them if somebody else doesn't do something, like let the hostage holders go.
What will the rich institutions do to us if somebody else doesn't "let them go" ? Who is the "somebody else" ?
