I have a problem with my linux-box. I have 32MB of RAM. However when I use
top to check the system it shows that I have only 13MB++ of memory. I
understand that some of it is used by the kernel and adding that to the 13
I get only 16MB++. Where is the rest?
My worry is that not all of my RAM is being utilised as the system keeps
trashing the swap space (64MB of swap) and that really slows down the
system. What is a good check for the amount of memory the system has
recognised and if not all of it is utilised how do I pass some parameters
to the kernel to make it recognise all the memory I have.

Below is my system spec.

Memory 32MB
CPU AMD-K6(2)-350
HD (IDE) 1.6GB
Linux kernel - 2.2.5-x
