1. make sure U make a link to yr modem - as root ... root# ln -s /dev/ttyS1 /dev/modem ( this is for external modem on COM2) 2. remove lock in /etc/ppp/options - root# vi /etc/ppp/options .. if U familiar with vi .. if not use pico or emacs - u'll see .. lock - remove it ... type "dd" means delete one line - then press Esc and type ":wq" .. means save and quit 3. then setup yr kppp setting - in the xterm .. just type "kppp" - then u'll something like dial-up networking for win95/98 - just configure from there ... - klik on modem tab ... make sure the speed 115200 - then create yr new account ... ...that's all ...
