YUP.
Lets say you have a LAN and under a NIS domain. So, you can login from any
of the workstation in the NIS LAN with the same name and password.
This can be done coz all the username and password are keep in the NIS
server database.so, you no need to create account in each workstation.
Work pretty same with Windows NT as a PDC,where you can login from each
windows box with the same username and password.
Actuall, i think Microsoft steal the idea fron SUN.

For security reason.
