For what it's worth, I encountered a problem with the Konqueror browser today. The user was unable to activate their account. I confirmed they were receiving and supplying the correct activation string. I also confirmed that the right string was in auth.account_activation.
The error they received was: invalid activation string. After their failed attempt, the string was no longer in auth.account_activation. I asked them to try Firefox. They were able to active (after I deleted their original account and they tried again). Yes, I know Pentabarf says right there on the first submission page: Please note that this system has only been tested with recent versions of Gecko-based browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Seamonkey or Camino.
