I am starting a process of consolidating my lens collection. (Translation: I am selling some of my lenses to pay for buying some other lenses.) First up for sale is this F version 100mm Macro. Superb lens. As recently discussed in response to Boz's data call, this version has the Focus Range Limit Switch; what this does is to allow you to limit the focus range to 1/4x (= about .6 meter) or closer; if used with an autofocus camera, this saves much AutoFocus hunting back and forth. Note that I cannot imagine why anyone would want to use AF while in macro mode, but preferences do vary. The manual focus is smooth and precise. Aperture, lens surfaces, external cosmetics all in EXC or EXC+ condition with the following exception: This is one of the batch of macros (F and FA) sold a couple of years ago by a lab in Michigan. All had been attached to microscopes or some other instrument via set screws on the filter ring. Thus, there are three visible indentations in the outside of the filter ring. Does NOT hurt the ability to screw on a hood or filter (either of which would be considered anathema to hardcore macro-nies in any case). So, one each 100mm SMC F 1:2.8 Macro, first $300 USD takes it. Price includes mailing/insurance within U.S. and Canada. Return for a refund if you change your mind within a reasonable time. Payment via cash, check, gold coin, money order, PayPal, whatever. Or I'll do a straight swap for a 200mm lens for my 645. Stan - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
