Responsible for database design, development and administration of large
scale Operational, OLTP and Analytical data structures including logical
and physical design
Provide SQL performance tuning on both OLTP and Data warehouse environments.
Optimize DB2 resource utilization by tuning queries (static and dynamic),
recommending indexes, and configuring database parameters
Provide data migration support
Work with application team to review the SQLs before production migration.
Lead, mentor and/or provide guidance to junior DBAs including guidance for
troubleshooting escalated issues
Partner with offshore DBA resources and thoroughly document processes to
ensure successful implementation by offshore staff and Production Control
Provide on-call rotational 24/7 Incident Response to database alerts from
production monitoring tools and Command Center personnel
Analyze Key Performance Metrics and make recommendations for improvements
Work with IBM and follow-up with PMR tickets.
Maintain the integrity of data within the production environment including
the execution of proper backup and restoration policies and procedures
which provide point-in-time restore capabilities (disaster recovery)
Perform database capacity planning and trend analysis in IDAA
Deploy database changes in strict accordance with change management
policies and procedures
Interact and coordinate work with System Administrators, Project Managers
and fellow team members to support various project requests
