American a part of a new international order. Does the American citizen have
a say whether or not they want to become part of an international order?
Can this new international order tax American citizens? Can the new
international order draft American citizens and send them to war? How does
an American citizen opt out of this new international order or make their
voice heard to the people running the new international order? Who are the
people who will run the new international order? How are these new
international rulers chosen?

The Obama Administration released its first National Security Strategy on
May 27, 2010. The overview of the report states,
"Our national security strategy is, therefore, focused on renewing American
leadership so that we can more effectively advance our interests in the
21st century. We will do so by building upon the sources of our strength at
home, while shaping an international order that can meet the challenges of
our time. This strategy recognizes the fundamental connection between our
national security, our national competitiveness, resilience, and moral
example. And it reaffirms America's commitment to pursue our interests
through an international system in which all nations have certain rights and
responsibilities."
