Hello!
I've installed xine from blastwave (version 1.0,REV=2004.06.28.rc5) and
I've tryed playing a DVD with gxine. It does play, but it stutters and
loses lots of frames and reports messages like this:
video_out: throwing away image with pts 1030813 because it's too old
(diff : 9565).
video_out: throwing away image with pts 1033816 because it's too old
(diff : 6562).
video_out: throwing away image with pts 1036819 because it's too old
(diff : 3559).
The number of lost frames per second increases as I increase the size of
the window in which it plays. This seems to be related to X
performance. The platform is Solaris Express 10/05 x86, IBM ThinkPad
R50, 1.5GHz. The problem is not in the machine itself because I used to
have Linux on this machine and it was playing fine, full-screen without
lost frames.
My /boot/solaris/bootenv.rc contains (among other things):
setprop ata-dma-enabled 1
setprop atapi-cd-dma-enabled 1
What could be the reason for such poor performance?
