Hi Richard,
I would like to know exact meaning of the parameters used while generating load using filebench.
I am using a .prof file with following parameters:

       nfiles = 20000;
       meandirwidth = 20;
       filesize = 2k;
       nthreads = 100;
       meaniosize = 16k;

1) nfiles = 20000 is OK, I verified with kstat that filebench created 20000 files with +/- 5% difference. 2) I do not understand meandirwidth = 20. Does this mean that depth of directory tree will be 20 or something else? 3) filesize = 2k does not hold true either. I see files with sizes ranging from 512 bytes till 12K in the fileset created.
4) What exactly meaniosize = 16k means? Is it mean of i/o done per sec?

It will be really helpful if you can provide meaning of these parameters.

Regards,
-Atul
