I've reproduced this bug also w/o ZFS (although I think autofs was enabled at the time).
It seems to be a problem with running ZFS & UATA drives on Sparc. I haven't seen the issue with UFS/UATA or ZFS/SCSI. I also haven't tried x86. Tested on both an Ultra 5 and a Blade 100.
