BTW: I forgot one comment...
... the issue Peter pointed out is that libast.so.1 is currently not a
"public API" from the viewpoint of the "interface stabilty", currently
it's "project private" (Solaris seperates between different types of API
stabilty, e.g. whether an API is "safe" to use for other applications
(which do not belong to the same project as the library itself) or
whether it may change without any further warning between minor release
versions).
