Hi Stephane,

I was able to get around the crash in irqbalance on the Stephen Rothwell
kernel by doing the following:

sudo /sbin/chkconfig --levels 2345 irqbalance off

then boot up the kernel. irqbalance is not strictly needed to run, and
I was able to run the "examples/self" test on POWER6 with good results.
The problem with zeroed counters reported a couple of weeks ago has been
fixed.

With that, here is a proposed patch to the minimal kernel for base POWER
support and another patch that adds the POWER6-specific code. I have
one question for you about this patch too: should we update the dates on
all of the copyright notices?

Thanks for your consideration,

- Corey
