yes, the fact that this machine is a Yonah does cause confusion sometimes.

I issued that command, then did some pfmon runs.  I get the following 
multiple times in dmesg:

IRQ 222 is listed in /proc/cpuinfo simply as

222:          3        586      none-edge

let me know if you need more info, and also if I somehow have debugging 
not printing out enough info.
