Eric,

There is currently no PEBS support for Nehalem. I am planning
on releasing the support with the 2.6.30 kernel.

Hi Stephane,

Is PEBS supported in pfmon 3.9 on Intel Nehalem processor?

I am running Redhat Enterprise 5 with kernel 2.6.29, and my processor
is Intel Nehalem (Xeon 5520).
When I want to sample with pebs, I find the PEBS is not supported. The
following is the output while I
running command "pfmon -I".

[...@discovery cpu2006]$ pfmon -i
detected host CPUs:  8-way 1600MHz/8.0MB -- Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5520
@ 2.27GHz (stepping 5)
detected pfmon  PMU model: Intel Nehalem
detected libpfm PMU model: Intel Nehalem
max counters/set: 16
supported pfmon PMU models: [AMD64] [Pentium 4] [Intel Core] [Intel
Atom] [Intel Nehalem] [Intel architectural PMU]
supported sampling modules: [inst-hist] [detailed] [compact] [raw]
pfmlib version: 3.9
kernel perfmon version: 2.82
kernel clock resolution: 999848ns (1000Hz)
host kernel architecture: x86_64

Did I make some mistakes while installing the pfmon?

Thanks!
