HI, everyone
I dowanload the latest version of libperf4 and execute on a intel Q6600
processor. The Os kernel is 2.6.31.
However, I meet the error of Segment fault when the self_count is execute.
The detailed errors are as follows:
[r...@localhost perf_examples]# ./self_count
raw=0x2402 offset=0x0, ena=22274 run=22274 idx=-1
9218 PERF_COUNT_HW_CPU_CYCLES
raw=0x2b8d offset=0x0, ena=39160 run=39160 idx=-1
11149 INSTRUCTION_RETIRED
Segmentation fault
It seems the following statement result in the segment error.
asm volatile("rdpmc" : EAX_EDX_RET(val, low, high) : "c" (counter));
Anyone else can help me?
Thanks a lot.
Jason
