Hello, I am wondering if there is another event in Itanium 2 processor that can return information about instruction pointer that trigger the event, other than EAR.
Can INST_RETIRED event return the instruction pointer ? I recently read a paper that used it to get the IP, but in perfmon doc, the following script: pfmon -e cpu_cycles,IA64_inst_Retired ls /dev/null only returns the number of retired instructions. Any suggestion, corrections or comments are greatly appreciated.
