Hello,

I have tried perfmon2 with linux-2.6.30 (from git) /as well as with perf_events
linux-2.6.39 and libpfm-4.1.0 on AMD Phenom9650.
Part of /proc/cpuinfo shown below:

cpu family : 16
model : 2
model name : AMD Phenom(tm) 9650 Quad-Core Processor

Availability of event with umask:

**** On Perfmon2 with libpfm3.9:

Name : L3_CACHE_MISSES
Desc : L3 Cache Misses
Code : 0x4e1
Counters : [ 0 1 2 3 ]
Umask-00 : 0x01 : [READ_BLOCK_EXCLUSIVE] : Read Block Exclusive (Data cache
read)
Umask-01 : 0x02 : [READ_BLOCK_SHARED] : Read Block Shared (Instruction cache
read)
Umask-02 : 0x04 : [READ_BLOCK_MODIFY] : Read Block Modify
Umask-03 : 0x10 : [CORE_0_SELECT] : Core 0 Select
Umask-04 : 0x20 : [CORE_1_SELECT] : Core 1 Select
Umask-05 : 0x40 : [CORE_2_SELECT] : Core 2 Select
Umask-06 : 0x80 : [CORE_3_SELECT] : Core 3 Select
Umask-07 : 0xf7 : [ALL] : All sub-events selected

**** But here use of L3_CACHE_MISSES:CORE_0_SELECT always gives 0 value.

While with /perfmon2/linux-2.6.30/libpfm-3.10 as well as
perf_events/linux-2.6.39/libpfm-4.1.0, I do not see umask for core selection
supported. While the processor BKDG says about having such umask.

Is that umask not to be used, kindly advise.

Regards,
Jitendra
