Hi,

pfmon-3.9 is a dead project. It was stopped in early 2009.
pfmon-3.9 works only with libpfm-3.x versions.

The libpfm4.x releases are meant to be used with
the kernel perf_events interface present since 2.6.31.

As for performance tools on top of perf_events, you
can use the perf tool in the kernel source tree under
tools/perf.
