Hi all,
I am student at Arizona state university. I need to study performance
monitoring tool for my course project.
I have selected perfmon2 for it. I went through the pdf attached as the
documentation on perfmon2 website.
I need to learn how these tools work with multiple process simultaneously.
I think all the MSR will be saved during the context switch and will be
loaded again when the task resumes. I also came across functions like
pfm_context_load and pfm_context_unload. *But I need more detailed
information on how they work with multiple process simultaneously.*

I also need to learn how these tools behave in virtual environments and
problems if any using them on virtual machines.
I kindly request to let me know where can I find the relevant information.
It would be great if anyone would send me the links of white/IEEE...etc
papers which can guide to towards my goal.
