No, the idea would be it would do the right thing by default on armv8 no matter if it were 32 or 64-bit kernel running, and on armv7 we'd have to have a whitelist. I was going to throw together some code to do that but the CPU detection code in PAPI is much more horrible than I remembered. I'll see if I can get something together anyway.
