It now says joining is free, although gensoftreviews.com says 'Free •
Subscription • Online • Full Featured'.

Their Feature Tour/Family Tree entry says 'Once you create your family
trees on Ancestry.com, you can easily import them to myfamily.com', and
ancestry.com is definitely fee-based.

Still, 2 more to think about...

I've effectively retired, but not by choice, and 3 weeks ago moved in
with my mother - who has Alzheimer's - so I have time to contemplate any
options.
