I'm running this on a vanilla OS X installation. Hmm - I think I found the problem. I'd installed the perl-ldap libraries a long time ago, and apparently one of the OS upgrades appears to have broken a part of it. Reinstalling the library appears to have corrected the problem. Interesting since all of the other regular LDAP functionality still worked perfectly, it was just the LDIF functions that were broken...

'k. ;) What version of Net::LDAP do you have installed? Your initial message doesn't contain that information. I took your code and ran it on one of my boxes (with perl-ldap-3202) and it didn't have any complaints.
