I find it a good idea to have CPAN resolve things for me (most
of the time they're spot on).
perl -MCPAN -e shell
install Net::LDAP
I can't explain the problem you encountered because here
everything works fine, and I have no idea how to reproduce
your scenario. What OS/Version are you using, which version
of perl does it use?
