I am using Event for a variety of systems running 24/7, last not least my
answering machine (which also does a lot of other, unrelated things in the
same process, all event-driven), and never had a problem (it has to handle
about 1-2 events per second, which includes syslog a remote-control at the
serial port, several serial devices etc..)
