hmm, i seem to be experiencing a problem with idle events in
stem. somehow the events are being delivered after a fraction of a
second delay. is this test related to idle? the tests are all timers
with a delay of 0 which is equivilent to an idle event to my
understanding. someone else testing stem doesn't see these delays but i
haven't asked them to test event yet.

curiouser and curiouser. what is odd about my setup?
