Hey All,

I just finished a build of 5.8.0 on z/OS 1.2 (PUT level 0201+) running in
64-bit mode (which should not matter until the compiler catches up to the
OS). My 'make test' returned a rate of 98.08%. How does this compare with
what everyone gets on newer OS/390 and/or z/OS systems?

The only significant failure was actually a S0C4 abend:

lib/ExtUtils/t/Embed.................CEE3204S The system detected a
protection exception (System Completion Code=0C4).

I will probably try running harness over the weekend or early next week to
see if I can get more info about the failures we are getting. We are still
unable to build 5.8.0 on our OS/390 2.10 systems due to a fork problem. IBM
level 2 support is still wading through a dump on that problem and the
problem could be with the OS.
