Has anyone done this? If so, any simple examples. I have looked through the
pod on DBD::DB2 and I can pull down data_source. I have QMF and have a host name and
am able select from QMF, but as I look at the doc it is unclear what I need to do to
coonect to a remote DB2 database. I don't want to re-invent the wheel, so any
insights to a neophyte would be more than greatly appreciated. I found the following
in the pod:
Data Source Names (DSNs)
The database name you specify in the DBI->connect() method is the
locally cataloged DB2 database alias. You do not include a host name or
port number as this information is already in the catalog. To access a
remote database, catalog the remote node, the DCS database (for AS/400,
MVS and VM/VSE databases) and the database alias. See the DB2
Installation and Configuration Supplement for help with configuring
client-to-server communications. For information on accessing host
databases, see the DB2 Connect User's Guide.
Any questions and/or problems, please let me know.
Thanks.
