Lately I've been hammering hard on every TAP proposal asking why this, why not
that, why do you think this, what about that, is this really going to be a
problem, isn't that situation a little far fetched, not that's not going to
work because... and I get really excited and ruthless about beating up on the
idea. Making sure we're not forgetting edge cases and that its going to work
and not be something we'll regret later.

Unfortunately I sometimes swing the hammer of rigor a little too wildly and
beat up on people in the process. I've already gotten over-excited and/or
frustrated and offended two people that I know of.

If I vigorously attack your idea its because I value you and your ideas, which
might seem backwards, I know. If I'm in disagreement with folks here I really
want to know why, because you're smart people and maybe I'm probably missing
something. So I pick, poke, prod and analyze until I figure out what's really
going on. And I have absurdly high standards when it comes to decisions that
we're going to have to live with for 5, 10, 20 years.

I'd just like to say that I'm beating up ideas, not people, and I'm sorry if
sometimes folks take a lump in the process. If I'm being a dick please say so
accompanied with the witty retort of your choice.
