If David hasn't made a lot of progress on that, I'm willing to take it on.
It was going to be called 'CheckLib', but 'AssertLib' works better I think.
If you remember when we discussed it elsewhere, there were a few little
niggles that would need to be sorted out, but I've decided to say "screw
it" and release a simple version anyway. This weekend. It will no
doubt be a buggy unportable piece of shit, but that's better than
nothing :-)
