Yeah, it's not the right term. While it meets the other criteria to qualify as spam by the classical definition, it would also have to be bulk. Which this is not. Or at least, not precisely. But then, languages evolve; it's been a long time since the classical definition was the only one used. And frankly, unsolicited mass e-mail by any other name would smell as bad.
