i am looking for some way to do this and would
appreciate if someone could share experiences.
when a user i have uploads an image from his computer
(for a greeting card application), sometimes users do
not know that the image is huge because they often
just scan it.
is it possible to run this uploaded file through some
utility and compress it? i do not mean it in the type
of a zip or rar file. i mean compression that is
somewhat like the thing that fireworks and photoshop
allow us to do - to save a big file as a simple JPG or
a GIF file?
any advice or other suggestions about how to do this
are also welcome!
